Abstract:
In relation to split fuel injection, in which fuel injection per combustion cycle, performed by means of a fuel injection valve, is split for execution into first fuel injection and second fuel injection, a fuel injection control device and a fuel injection control method according to the present invention cause the first fuel injection to be performed when gas blows back toward an intake port from within a cylinder while an intake valve is open after bottom dead center of a piston of an internal combustion engine, and cause the second fuel injection to be performed during an interval from a subsequent valve opening timing of the intake valve until bottom dead center of the piston. It is thus possible to improve the homogeneity of an air-fuel mixture in the cylinder resulting from split injection.
