Abstract:
In a spark ignition type internal-combustion engine (1) provided with a directly-above injection type fuel injection device, a fuel temperature (Tfuel) at a distal end portion of a fuel injection valve (10) is estimated from engine operating conditions and the like and is compared with a flash boiling temperature (Tfb) set on the basis of an intake pressure. If the fuel temperature is higher than the flash boiling temperature (Tfb), a flash boiling phenomenon occurs in which the fuel boils and vaporizes suddenly in the injection hole, causing penetration of spray mist (F) to become shorter, and the fuel injection timing (IT) in the intake stroke is therefore adjusted to the advance angle side. This improves the fuel efficiency
