Abstract:
A fuel injection nozzle equipped with an injection hole (14), a cylindrical nozzle body (3), the tip end of which has a suction chamber (15) formed therein to which the intake port (21) of the injection hole opens, and a needle (2) housed inside the nozzle body so as to be capable of moving in the axial direction, wherein the needle is seated on and unseated from the inner wall (16) of the nozzle body, and as a result, fuel injection starts and stops. The fuel injection nozzle is further equipped with a hole (6) that is provided in the tip end of the needle and recesses toward the rear-end side in the axial direction, a tip-end component (7) that projects into the suction chamber and is slidably held on the inner-circumferential surface of the hole, and a spring (9) that biases the tip-end component toward the tip-end side in the axial direction, and is housed inside the hole. Furthermore, a bearing surface (64) on which the tip-end component is seated and from which the same is unseated is present inside the suction chamber, and the tip-end component contacts the bearing surface as a result of the biasing force of the spring. The needle and the tip-end component are respectively provided with an engaging part (54) and an engageable part (55) which engage one another as the needle is unseated from the inner wall of the nozzle body and moves toward the rear-end side in the axial direction. As a result of the engagement between the engaging part and the engageable part, the needle engages the tip-end component while moving toward the rear-end side in the axial direction, and pulls the tip-end component toward the rear-end side in the axial direction in opposition to the biasing force of the spring.
