Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to enable the penetration of the fuel spray to be set for each fuel injection hole of a fuel injection valve having multiple fuel injection holes, while minimizing a decrease in manufacturability and reliability. This fuel injection valve has: a valve body (103) that closes a fuel passage by making contact with a valve seat (113) and opens the fuel passage by separating from the valve seat; a means for driving the valve body; multiple fuel injection holes (114) located downstream from the area of contact between the valve seat and the valve body; a guide (112) that is upstream from the area of contact between the valve seat and the valve body, and that guides the movement of the valve body in the vicinity of the aforementioned area of contact; and fuel passages (302-305) that connect the upstream side and the downstream side of the guide. The fuel passages connecting the upstream side and the downstream side of the guide are arranged such that the distribution of their cross-sectional area is nonuniform in the circumferential direction surrounding the central axis of the valve body.
