Abstract:
A fuel injection valve comprises: a spring retainer (36) which is disposed and affixed within a stationary core (5) and which has a hollow section serving as a center fuel passage (50) for connecting the inside of a fuel inlet cylinder (6) to the inside of a valve housing (3); and a return spring (33) which is provided in a compressed position between a rear spring seat (35) at the front end of the spring retainer (36) and the front spring seat (34) of a movable core (12) and which presses a valve body (13) toward a valve seat (7). An outer fuel passage (51) which connects the inside of the fuel inlet cylinder (6) to the inside of the valve housing (3) and which extends parallel to the center fuel passage (50) is formed between the spring retainer (36) and the stationary core (5). As a result of this configuration, the cross-sectional area of the fuel passage around the spring retainer can be increased without impairing the function of the spring retainer which serves as a seat for the return spring.
