Abstract:
A fuel injection valve is provided with a seating downstream surface (14) and a body-side recess (15). The seating downstream surface (14) is continuous with the downstream side of a seating surface (13) which is a part of a flow passage wall surface (10a) and which allows a valve body (20) to seat thereon and to move away therefrom, the seating downstream surface (14) facing the outer peripheral surface (20a) of the valve body (20) and being shaped so as to annularly extend around the center axis (20c) of the valve body (20). The body-side recess (15) is formed in the seating downstream surface (14) and is shaped such that a body (10) is recessed in the direction away from the center axis (20c). The inlet (11a) of an injection hole (11) is located in the seating downstream surface (14). The body-side recess (15) is shaped so as to annularly extend around the center axis (20c) and is formed within a range including an inlet upstream end (11a1) which is the portion of the inlet (11a) closest to the seating surface (13), and also including an inlet downstream end (11a3) which is the portion of the inlet farthest from the seating surface.
