Abstract:

A fuel injection valve for injecting fuel and water into a combustion chamber in a cylinder of a marine diesel engine via an injection hole. The fuel injection valve is provided with: a fuel oil channel for circulating the fuel pressure-fed from a fuel injection pump; a needle valve which blocks communication between the fuel oil channel and the injection hole in an openable manner; a needle valve spring which urges the needle valve toward the injection hole so as to block communication between the fuel oil channel and the injection hole; a water injection channel for injecting water at a predetermined position in the fuel oil channel; and a water-injection check valve which is interposed between the needle valve and the needle valve spring, and blocks communication between the fuel oil channel and the water injection channel in an openable manner. The water injection channel is formed axially symmetrically with respect to an operation-direction central axis of the water-injection check valve, and is provided with a symmetric water injection channel having an ejection opening opposed to the water-injection check valve.
