A fuel level sensor (10) is provided having an arm (14) pivotally mounted to a frame (12) adjacent a cam (20) that translates the pivotal motion of the arm (14) into a linear motion so that a contact arm (30) provided with a contact finger (32) may move linearly across a miniaturized resistor card (40).
