Abstract:
A fuel oil additive comprising a compound (A) which has a solubility parameter (SP) of 8. 8 to 11. 0, an HLB of 0. 5 to 9. 6, a number-average molecular weight of 100 to 750, a surface tension at 20°C of 38x10?-3¿ N/m or lower, and a pour point of -5°C or lower and which, when examined by differential thermal calorimetry at a heating rate of 10°C/min, has a residue amount at 150°C of 50 wt. % or larger and a residue amount at 300°C of 5 wt. % or smaller. It has especially high detergency.
