Abstract:
The present invention relates to: a fuel pump of an LPG vehicle for simultaneously improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust gas; and an engine control method. When a brake pedal of a traveling vehicle is pushed so that the vehicle enters a stopped state and an engine becomes an idle state, ECM (100) stops the engine (200) so that the engine RPM becomes 0. Thereafter, the output of the fuel pump is controlled by monitoring the phase change state of a fuel rail. When the temperature of the fuel rail approaches a preset critical temperature, the ECM (100) transmits a fuel pump control signal to a fuel pump control module (500) to increase a pump duty ratio, thereby increasing the flow rate of a cold fuel stored in an engine tank (300) and supplied to the fuel rail (400). Here, as the temperature of the fuel rail (400) decreases, the ECM (100) transmits a fuel pump driving signal to the fuel pump control module (500) to decrease the flow rate of the cold fuel supplied from the fuel tank (300). When a user steps on an acceleration pedal, or when the brake pedal is released, the ECM re-starts the engine, thereby completing the system and process of the present invention.
