Abstract:
This fuel pump comprises: a plunger that reciprocates; a retainer having a mounting part which is mounted to the bottom end of the plunger; and a spring that impels the plunger via the retainer. The mounting part includes an engaging section that engages with a constricted section formed on the bottom end of the plunger. The diameter of a circle formed by the corners of the engaging section and a spring inner-circumferential wall is less than the diameter of the bottom end of the plunger.
