Abstract:
The present invention provides a fuel pump capable of discharging fuel under a high pressure and capable of suppressing sticking between a plunger and a cylinder. In the present invention, a high-pressure fuel supply pump comprises: a plunger that performs reciprocating movement; a cylinder in which a guide hole for guiding the reciprocating movement of the plunger extends in the axial direction; and a pump body having a third chamber (cylinder insertion hole) into which the cylinder is inserted under pressure, and a compression chamber which is connected to the third chamber and the volume of which is increased and decreased by the reciprocating movement of the cylinder. Further, the pressure in a fixed gap created between the cylinder and the pump body is set to be equal to or larger than the pressure in a slide gap created between the plunger and the cylinder.
