Abstract:
In order to quickly supply vaporized fuel into cylinders even during a cold start, and in order to increase startability, the disclosed engine (10) is provided with a regular fuel tank (32), a vaporized fuel tank (34), an in-tank injection valve (36), a vaporized fuel supply valve (38), and the like. While the engine is running, in the state where the vaporized fuel supply valve (38) is closed, fuel is injected from the in-tank injection valve (36) into the vaporized fuel tank (34), forming vaporized fuel, which is this fuel that has vaporized. The vaporized fuel stored in the vaporized fuel tank (34) retains the state of a vapor phase by means of natural depressurization even after the engine is stopped. When starting the engine, the vaporized fuel within the vaporized fuel tank (34) is supplied to a surge tank (20) by means of opening the vaporized fuel supply valve (38). As a result, compared with generating vaporized fuel during starting, vaporized fuel can be supplied into the cylinders quickly, and startability can be increased.
