Abstract:

Disclosed is a fuel supply device that ensures a high fuel pressure when a fuel-burning apparatus such as an internal combustion engine is started and, as a result, ensures the improved startability thereof, and that satisfies the demand for improved fuel economy and for energy efficiency. The fuel supply device comprises: a fuel pump (10) which supplies fuel held in a fuel tank (1) to an engine (20); a pressure regulator (30) into which fuel supplied from the fuel pump (10) to the engine (20) is introduced and regulated to a set pressure, and which is able to switchover this set pressure between a high-pressure-side set pressure and a low-pressure-side set pressure; and a set pressure switchover means (40) which performs a switchover control on the set pressure of the pressure regulator (30) between either of the high-pressure-side set pressure and the low-pressure-side set pressure. The set pressure switchover means (40) ensures that the set pressure of the pressure regulator (30) when the fuel pump (10) is stopped is higher than the set pressure of the pressure regulator (30) when the fuel pump (10) is operating.
