Abstract:
Provided is a fuel tank for heavy construction equipment which prevents a diesel heater from becoming inoperable due to the introduction of moisture generated within the fuel tank in an extremely cold area, and which filters the moisture within the fuel tank using a moisture separator. The fuel tank for heavy construction equipment includes: a baffle plate for preventing fuel from flowing when the equipment is moved; a lower cover mounted on a bottom surface of the fuel tank; a drain port mounted on a lower cover to drain moisture contained in the fuel; a fuel return port configured to return the fuel from the engine into the fuel tank; a fuel suction port mounted on the lower cover to supply the fuel from the fuel tank into the engine; and a diesel heater fuel suction port mounted on a suction filter that is mounted on the fuel suction port and the lower cover, the diesel heater fuel suction port having an inlet bent toward the bottom surface of the fuel tank so as to prevent moisture generated within the fuel tank in an extremely cold area from dripping and being introduced through the inlet and then supplied into the diesel heater suction pipe.
