Abstract:
Provided is a fuel tank system configured so that the internal pressure in the fuel tank is less likely to be increased by a temperature rise, etc. and so that it is not necessary to secure a space around the fuel tank for the deformation thereof. Vapor piping (34) is connected to a fuel tank (14), and an atmospheric vent piping (24) is connected to the vapor piping (34) via a canister (18). A solenoid valve (52) is attached to the vapor piping, and a gas layer (A) in the upper part within the fuel tank is connected to the outside air by opening the solenoid valve. A thin-walled deformation portion (14D) which can be deformed and recessed inward is provided to the upper wall section (14C) of the fuel tank. A negative pressure pump (58) for reducing the pressure within the fuel tank to cause the deformation section to be deformed and recessed inward is provided in the atmospheric vent piping. The fuel tank is hermetically closed by closing the solenoid valve while the deformation section is deformed and recessed inward.
