Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a piece of furniture which has a simple configuration and can be made lightweight and strong and a method for manufacturing the same. [Solution] The present invention includes: a furniture body 2 which comprises a tabletop 21 and a pair of legs 22 that are formed as a unitary structure from an elastic material; and a furniture body retaining member 3 which is fit on the inside of the furniture body 2 in an elastically deformed state and applies an upward pressing force to the tabletop 21 while applying an outward pressing force to the legs 22 so as to counterbalance a downward pressing force of the tabletop 21 and an inward restoring force of the legs 22 occurring when the furniture body 2 is widened and thereby maintain a balanced state.
