Abstract:
Provided are a game control device, game control method, program, recording medium and game system that provide a compelling game when match results are determined on the basis of the ability scores between characters. In the game control method, a first match is executed with the character associated with the user-identifying information and the result of the first match is determined on the basis of a first ability score established for the character. A specified item is granted to the user on the basis of a prescribed operation input or information relating to the circumstances of game progression. If the user uses the item, the first ability score of the character corresponding to the user-identifying information of said user is modified to a second ability score higher than the first ability score for a prescribed period. A second match with the character corresponding to the user-identifying information is executed separately from the first match and the result of the second match is determined on the basis of the second ability score of the character.
