A gaming machine capable of reducing the operating expenses by carrying out the dispensation of pinballs by a single pinball dispenser, and capable of dispensing pinballs efficiently; and a pinball dispenser adapted to accurately and speedily dispense an arbitrary number of pinballs used in this machine. A gaming machine unit (40) has a pinball dispenser (101) adapted to receive a dispensing signal which is outputted from a controller (50) on the basis of a money amount signal from a pinball dispensing unit (30), and a prize signal which is also outputted from the controller (50) on the basis of predetermined rules, calculate pinballs the number of which corresponds to these signals and dispense pinballs into a customer's pinball receiver (11). The pinball dispenser (101) has a rotatable toothed wheel (110) facing the interior of a pinball passage (171) and provided in the outer circumferential surface thereof with recesses (110a) in each of which one pinball is fitted, this toothed wheel being rotated continuously until the number of dispensed pinballs has reached a level close to an instructed value, then switched to intermittent rotation, and stopped when the number of dispensed pinballs has reached an instructed value.
