Abstract:
A gamma correction system and method. The gamma correction method for a display panel of a liquid crystal display comprises: measuring actual brightness values of a preset highest grayscale and a preset lowest grayscale of a center area of a display panel; calculating target brightness values of preset binding point grayscales of the center area on the basis of the actual brightness values of the preset highest grayscale and the preset lowest grayscale of the center area, each of the binding point grayscale falling between the preset highest grayscale and the preset lowest grayscale; respectively regulating the preset binding point grayscales in the center area and areas on two sides according to the target brightness values of the preset binding point grayscales in the center area; calculating compensation grayscale values of the regulated preset binding point grayscales in the center area and the areas on two sides; storing the compensation grayscale values of the center area and the areas on two sides, and correcting gamma curves of the center area and the areas on two sides using the stored compensation grayscale values of the center area and the areas on two sides.
