Abstract:
A gap base material for reducing fretting wear (micromotion wear) and a fastening structure using the gap base material. The gap base material (1) having faces (2, 2) sandwiched between the contact faces (7) of contact materials (6) that generates friction and wear and embodying slide or vibration of the gap base material (1), is characterized in that the faces (2, 2) embodying sliding or vibration of the gap base material (1) have a higher hardness as compared with at least one contact face (7) of the first contact material (6) and the second contact material (6'), and the faces (2, 2) embodying sliding or vibration of the gap base material (1) have a lower coefficient of friction and a higher smoothness as compared with at least one contact face (7) of the first contact material (6) and the second contact material (6'), and thereby the faces (2, 2) embodying sliding or vibration of the gap base material (1) make the contact face (7) of the contact material (6) difficult to wear.
