Abstract:
This invention provides a gap clogging member for vehicles using an olefinic
thermoplastic elastomer that is wide in a regulatable range of gloss value representing
gloss, can provide a high initial gloss value, and is also excellent in mechanical
properties such as scratch resistance, chemical resistance, and adhesion,
and recycling properties. The gap clogging member for vehicles is a member which
is mounted in the peripheral part of a plate-like body for vehicle windows, for
clogging a gap between a vehicle body in its opening part and the plate-like body
for vehicle windows. The gap clogging member for vehicles comprises an olefinic
thermoplastic elastomer comprising: an olefinic graft copolymer comprising
an olefinic polymer or olefinic copolymer segment formed of an α-olefinic
monomer and a vinyl copolymer segment, particles of one of the segments being
dispersed in the other segment, the average particle diameter of the particles
being 0.01 to 1 μm; and an acrylic rubber produced by copolymerizing a monomer
mixture composed mainly of methoxyethyl acrylate, an alkyl acrylate, acrylonitrile,
and allyl methacrylate.
