Abstract:
Provided is a gas barrier film having high gas barrier performance under high temperature and high humidity conditions, being highly flexible, which is a desirable property for resistance to high temperatures and high humidity, and further having superior transparency. The above are achieved by a gas barrier film characterized by having a layered structure in which a stress-mitigating layer, a barrier layer and a layer including a transition metal compound are laminated in this order, wherein the ratio of the refractive index of the layer including the transition metal compound to the refractive index of the stress-mitigating layer (i.e., the refractive index of the layer including the transition metal compound/the refractive index of the stress-mitigating layer) is 1.32 to 1.45, and the thickness of the layer including the transition metal compound is 3 to 500 nm.
