Abstract:
A gas bearing device which rotatably supports a rotary shaft by using gas as a working fluid, the gas bearing device comprising: a housing through which the rotary shaft penetrates; an annular top foil which is provided inside the housing and which surrounds the outer periphery of the rotary shaft; a back spring which is provided between the top foil and the housing and which has a plurality of crests abutted against the top foil and a plurality of troughs abutted against the housing; and a pair of snap rings which are fitted into a shaft hole of the housing through which the rotary shaft penetrates and which regulates the movement of the back spring in the axial direction of the rotary shaft, wherein the inner peripheral surface of each of the pair of snap rings has self-lubricity.
