Abstract:
A gas bearing spindle (1) is provided with: a rotating shaft (11); a radial/thrust bearing (40); an impeller (12); an impeller exhaust path (22) that directly receives exhaust that hits an impeller blade (12a) and is discharged; a housing (20); and a facing surface gas supply path that supplies a gas toward a facing surface (12b) of the impeller (12) that faces the radial/thrust bearing (40). The facing surface gas supply path comprises: an outer peripheral-side gas supply path (21) that is provided more to the outer peripheral side than the impeller exhaust path (22) in the housing (20); a distant gas supply path (21b) that is connected to the outer peripheral-side gas supply path (21) and the radial/thrust bearing (40) and that is provided to a location in the housing that is more distant than the impeller exhaust path (22) as viewed from the impeller (12); and a radial bearing interior gas supply path (42a) that is provided to the radial/thrust bearing (40) and that is connected to the distant gas supply path (21b) and a choke (44) that faces the distant gas supply path (21b).
