Abstract:
A gas circuit breaker is provided which can quickly cool an arc extinguishing gas that has been blown at an arc and reached a high temperature. This gas circuit breaker comprises a sealed container 8 in which an arc extinguishing gas is sealed, a first fixed contact part 2 fixed to the sealed container 8, a second fixed contact part 4 fixed to the sealed container 8, and a movable contact part 3 for passing or blocking electric current between the first fixed contact part 2 and the second fixed contact part 4 by moving between the first fixed contact part 2 and the second fixed contact part 4, and in the gas circuit breaker, the arc extinguishing gas is blown to extinguish the arc generated when blocking current between a fixed arc contact 21 provided in the first contact part 2 and a movable arc contact 31 provided in the movable contact part 3, wherein the first contact part 2 has an air cylinder 24 that discharges arc extinguishing gas that has been blown at the arc, the air cylinder 24 has an air chamber 27 partitioned by a partition wall 26 having multiple ejection holes 26a, and the arc extinguishing gas inside of the air chamber 27 is ejected from the ejection holes 26a, mixed into the flow of the arc extinguishing gas in the air cylinder 24, and the mixed arc extinguishing gas is agitated by an agitator 28 provided in the air cylinder 24 downstream in the flow of the arc extinguishing gas.
