Abstract:
This gas circuit breaker (100) is provided with: a fixed arc contact (12) that is disposed on a movable shaft (30) so that the tip (14) thereof is oriented toward one side in a first direction parallel to the movable shaft (30); a movable arc contact (22) that on the movable shaft (30) can reciprocate between a position at which the movable arc contact (22) contacts the tip (14) of the fixed arc contact (12) and a position at which the movable arc contact (22) is spaced apart from the tip (14) of the fixed arc contact (12); and a first permanent magnet (32) and a second permanent magnet (33) which are provided so as to have magnetic poles arrayed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The fixed arc contact (12) is shaped such that the distance between the fixed arc contact (12) and the movable shaft (30) increases from the tip (14) toward the other side of the fixed arc contact (12) in the first direction.
