Abstract:
Provided is a gas circuit breaker with which it is possible to reduce deformation of an insulating nozzle and leakage of arc-extinguishing gas that is compressed in order to be sprayed to an arc, and to more reliably maintain electric insulation performance. A gas circuit breaker 1 includes: a compression chamber 36 for boosting the arc-extinguishing gas, the chamber being composed of a trigger electrode 31 which is disposed so as to be movable between a first arc contactor 21 and a second arc contactor 41 and which, during the first half of current breaking, fires an arc between the trigger electrode and the first arc contactor 21 via movement, and during the second half of current breaking, fires an arc to the second arc contactor 41 via movement, a cylinder 42 which has an outer wall 51 and an inner wall 52 formed in a cylindrical shape, and which is provided to the second arc contactor 41, and a piston 33 which slides between the outer wall 51 and the inner wall 52 in conjunction with the trigger electrode 31; and an insulating nozzle 23 that guides the arc-extinguishing gas boosted by the compression chamber 36 to the arc that is fired between the first arc contactor 21 and the second arc contactor 41. The insulating nozzle 23 is supported by the inner wall 52 of the cylinder 42.
