Abstract:
Provided is a gas circuit breaker with which it is possible to adequately secure density and pressure of an arc-extinguishing gas sprayed onto an arc, and improve the reliability of maintaining electrical insulation performance. The gas circuit breaker 1 has: a first arc contactor 21 electrically connected to a first lead-out conductor 7a; a cylindrical guide part 41 provided on the second lead-out conductor 7b side; a trigger electrode 31, which is disposed so as to be movable between the first arc contactor 21 and the guide part 41, and which, during the first half of current breaking, fires an arc between the trigger electrode 31 and the first arc contactor 21 via movement; a compression chamber 36 for raising the pressure of an arc-extinguishing gas, the compression chamber 36 comprising a cylinder 42, which has a cylindrically formed outer wall 51 and inner wall 52 and which is provided on the guide part 41 side, and a piston 33, which slides between the outer wall 51 and the inner wall 52 in coordination with the trigger electrode 31; and an insulating nozzle 23 for guiding the arc-extinguishing gas, in which the pressure has been raised by the compression chamber 36, to the arc fired by the first arc contactor 21. The insulating nozzle 23 is formed so as to be integral with the inner wall 52 of the cylinder 42.
