Abstract:
A hammering piston (7) is so provided in a hammering cylinder (6) disposed in a
body (1) as to be capable of vertically sliding. A movable sleeve (11) is vertically
movably fitted to the upper outer side of the hammering cylinder (6). An airtight
combustion chamber (5) is formed by upwardly moving the movable sleeve (11) until
it is brought into contact with a cylinder head (10) positioned above the movable
sleeve. A combustible mixed gas is explosively burned in the combustion chamber
(5) and the high-pressure combustion gas is applied to the hammering piston (7)
to impulsively drive the piston, whereby a fastener is hammered out by a driver
(8) joined to the lower surface of the hammering piston (7). An elastic member
(15) is disposed between the movable sleeve (11) and the cylinder head (10). The
elastic member (15) biases the movable sleeve (11) downward.
