Portable dryer (1) comprising gas tank (25) for pooling fuel gas; combustor (11) for burning fuel gas supplied from the gas tank (25); air blower (17) for causing air having been heated by the combustor (11) to flow so as to be discharged from an outlet of casing (3); power source (27) for driving motor (19) of the air blower (17); and lighter (9) for lighting the fuel gas. The combustor (11) is fitted with ejector (7) for drawing primary air by suction by means of a negative pressure produced by the flow rate of fuel gas supplied from the gas tank (25). Mixed gas jetted from wick is burned in primary combustion chamber (55). In secondary combustion chamber (57), secondary air is fed to the gas after the combustion in the primary combustion chamber (55) so as to not only realize complete combustion but also induce turbulence with the result that the molecular movement of water molecules produced in large amount by combustion of fuel gas is activated to thereby generate negative ions.
