A gas cooking stove, comprising a cooking stove body, a top plate, a burner, a gas flow control device, a control part, and an operating part of electrical contact type transmitting signals for the ignition, fire extinguishment, and heating power control of the burner. The gas flow control device supplies and cuts off gas to the burner, and controls heating power by controlling gas flow. The control part controls the gas flow control device to instruct the ignition, fire extinguishment, and heating power control of the burner. The operating part is disposed on the top surface of the top plate at a position not thermally affected by the burner. Or the operating part is disposed on the top surface of the top plate and a temperature detector for detecting temperatures near the operating part is additionally installed, and the control part changes the heating power of the burner based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector.
