Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of improving gas-detection reliability by separating n-multiple wave signals generated by a cause which is a target gas from n-multiple wave signals generated by some other cause. In the present invention, first modulated light (center wavelength λ1) which pertains to the absorption band peak wavelength of a target gas and which was wavelength modulated using a standard frequency f and second modulated light (center wavelength λ2) which does not pertain to such peak wavelength and which was similarly wavelength modulated using the standard frequency f in an adjacent band are projected into a space and received. The signal ratio between an n-multiple wave signal and a standard wave signal is calculated, and when a value corresponding to the difference between a signal ratio pertaining to the center wavelength λ1 of the first modulated light and a signal ratio pertaining to the center wavelength λ2 of the second modulated light is no more than a prescribed value, gas detection based on the signal ratio pertaining to the center wavelength λ1 of the first modulated light is determined to be erroneous detection.
