Abstract:
A gas generator (S) applicable to air bags for side collisions or next-to-driver seats, comprising a long cylindrical housing (1) in which are formed, in the axial direction of the housing (1), a first combustion chamber (3), a third combustion chamber (5) provided in a filter material (2), and a second combustion chamber (4). Each combustion chamber (3-5) is loaded therein with gas generating agents (6), and an ignition means (7) for igniting gas generating agents (6) in the first combustion chamber (3) only is disposed in the holder (9) of the housing (1).
