Abstract:

A gas generator has a closing plug (24) having a header section (45) and two or more electrode pins (22, 23), a thin film bridge (25) having electrode pads (41, 42), and an igniter (10) for igniting ignition agents (26, 27) when an electric current is supplied to the thin film bridge (25) through the electric pins (22, 23) to operate the thin film bridge (25). The thin film bridge (25) is embedded in a recess (32) provided in the closing plug (24) so as to be flush with a head section (35) of the electrode pins (22, 23) and the header section (45) of the closing plug (24). The thin film bridge (25) is connected by wire-bonding at the electrode pads (41, 42) to the electrode pins (22, 23), and at least one of the electrode pads (41, 42) of the thin film bridge (25) is connected by wire-bonding to a metal section of the header section (45) of the closing plug (24).
