Abstract:
Disclosed is a gas generator (1A) comprising: a short cylindrical housing with both ends blocked, formed by an initiator shell (10) and a closure shell (20); an igniter (30) attached to the initiator shell (10); and an enhancer cup (40) formed from a single cylindrical member with a bottom, with an enhancer (34) ignited by the igniter (30) housed therein. The enhancer cup (40) has a thin weak part (42a) that is ruptured or melted by the combustion of the enhancer (34) following the operation of the igniter (30), disposed in the side wall section (42) thereof, and a thick non-weak part (42b) that remains without being ruptured or melted by the combustion of the enhancer (34) following the operation of the igniter (30).
