Abstract:
The present invention is a gas generator wherein: one end side of a cylindrical housing has an ignition device chamber blocked by an ignition device including an igniter; a second end side of the cylindrical housing, on the opposite side to the one end in the axial direction, is blocked by a diffuser having a gas discharge port; the space between the diffuser and the ignition device chamber is a pressurized gas-filled chamber filled with pressurized gas serving as a gas source; the space between the ignition device chamber and the pressurized gas-filled chamber is blocked by a first rupture disk; the space between the pressurized gas-filled chamber and the diffuser is blocked by a second rupture disk; a cup-shaped deflector is arranged on the pressurized gas-filled chamber side of the second rupture disk; the cup-shaped deflector has a gas passage in the circumferential surface thereof and has a fragile section in at least either the bottom surface or the circumferential surface thereof; said bottom surface is positioned on the first rupture disk side; the opening covers the second rupture disk; and the circumferential surface is arranged so as to have a cylindrical gap formed between same and the inner circumferential wall surface of the cylindrical housing.
