Abstract:
The present invention is capable of preventing a situation where a gas-generating agent ignites with unintended timing in a dual gas generator. This gas generator comprises: a first igniter; an early-stage combustion chamber housing which houses the first igniter and forms an early-stage combustion chamber where a prescribed burning material loaded into the early-stage combustion chamber housing is combusted through activation of the first igniter; and a shell housing which houses the early-stage combustion chamber housing and is formed with a gas discharge port. The interior of the shell housing has a late-stage combustion chamber which is defined by a prescribed partition wall and where the gas-generating agent loaded into the late-stage combustion chamber is combusted subsequent to the combustion of the prescribed burning material in the early-stage combustion chamber. A prescribed gap is formed between the early-stage combustion chamber housing and at least a portion of the prescribed partition wall.
