Abstract:
A gas generator (1) is provided with a cup (40) containing a gas generating agent and a holder (10). The holder (10) has a first recess (12) and annular groove (16) provided in an end surface on the side facing the cup (40), a second recess (13) provided in an end surface on the opposite side, and a partition (14) that partitions the first recess (12) and the second recess (13). A bottom surface (12a) of the first recess (12) has a first bottom surface (12a1) and a second bottom surface (12a2) positioned farther inward than the first bottom surface and positioned on the second recess (13) side. The gas generator (1) satisfies the condition A < B < C, where A is the distance from the second bottom surface (12a2) to a bottom surface (13a) of the second recess (13), B is the distance from the first bottom surface (12a1) to the bottom surface (13a) of the second recess (13), and C is the distance from the bottom surface (13a) of the second recess (13) to the annular groove (16).
