Abstract:

A gas humidifier used for humidifying fuel for a molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) and structured into one unit for producing steam and humidifying gas with the steam so as to reduce the scale of the gas humidifier. Vertical tube plates are stacked in the direction of the thickness at predetermined intervals to constitute a heat exchanger core (100) of plate fin type. Heating hot fluid (A) is circulated through every other space out of the spaces defined in the heat exchanger core (100) and parallel arranged horizontally, and the gas (B) to be humidified is circulated through the other spaces from the top to the bottom. Injection tubes (210) for spraying a liquid (C), which is a steam source, are inserted generally horizontally into the top space through which the gas (B) is circulated, along the tube plates on both sides of the injection tubes (210). A header tube (220) for supplying the liquid (C) to the injection tubes (210) is connected to the injection tubes (210) at a position away from the heat exchanger core (100). A part of the gas (B) to be humidified and introduced in the heat exchanger core (100) is made to flow to the outside of the heat exchanger core (100) and brought into contact with the header tube (220) disposed outside the heat exchanger core (100).
