Provided is a gas insulated switching apparatus with which it is possible to improve maintainability. This invention comprises a plurality of phase units A-C that have: circuit breakers CB1-CB3 having a main axis extending in one direction, the circuit breakers CB1-CB3 being serially disposed in the direction of the main axis; disconnectors DS1-DS6 provided at both sides of each of the circuit breakers CB1-CB3, each of the disconnectors DS1-DS6 being connected to the circuit breakers CB1-CB3; branch buses T1, T2 for connecting adjacent circuit breakers CB1, CB2 and adjacent circuit breakers CB2, CB3 through the disconnectors DS2-DS5, the branch buses T1, T2 being connected to supply circuits F1, F2; and a pair of main buses BB1, BB2 parallel to a circuit breaker row in which the circuit breakers CB1-CB3 are serially connected through the disconnectors DS1-DS6 and the branch buses T1, T2, the main buses BB1, BB2 being connected to the disconnectors DS1, DS6 located at both ends of the circuit breaker row. The phase units A-C are disposed so that the circuit breaker rows are parallel. The pair of main buses BB1, BB2 are disposed so as to be adjacent on both sides of the disconnectors DS1-DS6.
