Abstract:
This invention provides a gas oil composition for use in superchargers having a geometric compression ratio of not more than 16 and diesel engines with EGR. The gas oil composition is an FT synthetic base material-containing gas oil composition for a summer or winter season suitable for both diesel combustion and premixing compression ignition combustion. The gas oil composition has a sulfur content of not more than 5 ppm by mass, an oxygen content of not more than 100 ppm by mass, a volume modulus of not less than 1250 MPa and not more than 1450 MPa, a saybolt color of not less than +22, a lubricating property value of not more than 400 μm, and distillation characteristics of 140°C or above for the initial boiling point and 380°C or below for the end point, and is characterized in that (1) the cetane number in a fraction range below 200°C is not less than 40 and less than 60, (2) the cetane number in a fraction range of 200°C or above and below 280°C is not less than 60 and less than 80, and (3) the cetane number in a fraction range of 280°C or above is not less than 50.
