Abstract:
This gas production apparatus is characterized by comprising: a photoelectric conversion part which has a light receiving surface and a back surface thereof; a first electrode for electrolysis and a second electrode for electrolysis, which are provided side by side on the back surface; and a sealing part which is provided on the peripheral portion of the first or second electrode for electrolysis. The gas production apparatus is also characterized in that: the first and second electrodes for electrolysis are provided so as to electrolyze an electrolyte solution, when the first and second electrodes for electrolysis come into contact with the electrolyte solution, by utilizing the electromotive force that is generated when the photoelectric conversion part receives light and to respectively produce a first gas and a second gas; and the sealing part has corrosion resistance against the electrolyte solution and is provided so as to prevent the electrolyte solution from flowing into the space between the first or second electrode for electrolysis and the photoelectric conversion part.
