Title:
GAS SENSOR ELEMENT AND GAS SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/136962
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention achieves desired sensor characteristics by combining a plurality of types of precious metals, and stabilizes and maintains sensor characteristics by suppressing changes in catalyst characteristics which are due to alloying. A gas sensor element comprises a solid electrolyte body, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a protective layer. The protective layer at least comprises: a first catalyst layer carrying a first catalyst metal other than a metal that promotes a reduction reaction of nitrogen oxides; and a second catalyst layer carrying only a second catalyst metal that promotes a reduction reaction of nitrogen oxides. The first catalyst layer and the second catalyst layer do not come into direct contact with each other and are arranged side by side on a path through which a gas to be measured is supplied from the outside toward the first electrode.
