Abstract:
Disclosed is a gas sensor, which is provided with a catalyst layer and a pipe-shaped thermo-electric generating device that is provided with inner through holes in the axis direction of the device, a plurality of first cup-like members composed of a metal, a plurality of second cup-like members composed of a thermoelectric conversion material, and first and second electrodes. The first and second members are alternately disposed repeatedly in the axis direction. The first and second electrodes are provided on one end and the other end of the device, respectively. Each of the first members is provided with the first inner surface, the first outer surface, and a first through hole in the lower end, and has the cross-section area thereof reduced toward the lower end. Each of the second members is provided with the second inner surface, the second outer surface, and a second through hole in the lower end, and has the cross-section area thereof reduced toward the lower end. The inner through holes are configured of a plurality of first and second through holes. Each of the first members is inserted into each of the second members such that the first outer surface of the first member adheres to the second inner surface of one of the adjacent second members. Each of the second members is inserted into each of the first members such that the first inner surface of the first member adheres to the second outer surface of the other adjacent second member. The catalyst layer is provided on the inner surfaces of the inner through holes.
