Title:
GAS SENSOR AND GAS SENSOR STRUCTURAL BODY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/104156
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a gas sensor and a gas sensor structural body that have a simple configuration and that are capable of improving gas detection sensitivity over the prior art. By providing graphene (8) within an ionic liquid (L) between a source electrode (3) and a drain electrode (4), a change in the charge state within the ionic liquid (L) that is caused by the absorption of gas is directly reflected in the source-drain current (lsd) that flows through the graphene (8), thus making it possible to improve gas detection sensitivity over the prior art. Furthermore, by simply arranging the graphene (8) within the ionic liquid (L), a configuration wherein a plurality of polymers are used to perform surface chemical modification of a carbon nanotube as in the prior art is no longer necessary, thus making it possible to simplify the configuration accordingly.
