Abstract:
Provided is a gas sensor comprising a light source (17) for emitting light for evaluating a gas component, and a light detector (18) for receiving light that is transmitted while being reflected in a cell, said gas sensor being characterized in that the cell is configured from a parallel flat plate cell body (11) and a parallel flat plate lid (12) attached onto the cell body (11), the cell body (11) is provided with a flattened elliptic cylindrical cell space (13) having a constant depth, openings (16A, 16B) for inflow and outflow of gas to be measured are formed in the lid (12) or the cell body (11), the light source (17) is provided on one focal line (L1) of the cell space (13), the light detector (18) is provided on the other focal line (L2) of the cell space (13), and the whole surface surrounding the cell space (13) is formed as a light reflecting surface. Consequently, even when the light path length is increased, the cell is prevented from becoming three-dimensionally bulky and the gas quantity required to fill the interior of the cell is small. Therefore, the compact and high-sensitivity gas sensor is provided.
