Abstract:
This gas sensor 100 comprises a sensor element 101 and a control device. The control device determines whether a refresh of the sensor element 101 is necessary on the basis of at least one of an undershoot and an overshoot of pump current Ip2. When determined that a refresh is necessary, the control device performs a refresh process including at least one from among: a refresh-time adjustment pump control process for controlling an adjustment pump cell (main pump cell 21 or auxiliary pump cell 50) such that more oxygen is pumped out from an oxygen concentration adjustment chamber (first interior void 20 and second interior void 40) than a normal-time adjustment pump control process; and a refresh-time measurement pump control process for controlling a measurement pump cell 41 so as to pump out more oxygen from a third internal void 61 than a normal-time measurement pump control process.
