Title:
GAS SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/067855
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a gas sensor in which damage to a separator is suppressed and the generation of metal powder as a result of vibration of the separator is suppressed, thereby ensuring the reliability of an electrical connection between an electrode pad and a terminal fitting. [Solution] A gas sensor 1 comprises a sensor element 21 having an electrode pad 24, a main metal fitting 11, a tubular outer cylinder 81 made of metal, and a separator 91 which is accommodated in the outer cylinder and which holds a terminal fitting 75 that is connected to the electrode pad of the sensor element, wherein: the outer cylinder includes, in the stated order from a tip end side, a large diameter portion 81a, a step portion 81d which is perpendicular to an axis O direction and which extends radially inward from a rear end of the large diameter portion, a contracting diameter portion 81b which contracts diametrically while extending from the step portion toward the rear end side, and a small diameter portion 81c joined to the contracting diameter portion; a rear end facing surface of the separator is locked to a tip end facing surface of the step portion; a radial direction gap G between the outer cylinder and the separator is at least equal to 1 mm; and an inner diameter D1 of the small diameter portion and an inner diameter D2 of a region of the large diameter portion in which the gap is formed satisfy the relationship 0.5≤D1/D2≤0.8.
