Abstract:
A gasification furnace is provided with which it is possible to reduce the frequency of use of a melting burner and make slag flow down stably. The gasification furnace (10A) comprises a combustor (12) in which a combustible gas is produced from dust coal and which has a slag hole (16) that is open at the bottom. Slag (S) discharged upon gasification of the dust coal is allowed to flow through the slag hole (16) into slag-cooling water (Ws) placed in a gas-oil combustion chamber (14) disposed at the lower part of the combustor (12). A melting burner (20) has been disposed in the gas-oil combustion chamber (14) in the vicinity of the slag hole (16). In this gasification furnace (10A), an eddy generator (30) that lowers the pressure within the center of the gas-oil combustion chamber (14) has been disposed in the chamber (14).
